Federal Tax Increase Effective July 1st 2024
The 2024 Federal Budget called for a 12% increase on vaping e-liquids. This means all disposables and juice have increased $0.25-$1.00 depending on the amount of ML the product carries.
NEW Provincial Tax - 2025
All provinces will start charging their own tax on vape products in addition to the federal tax. Alberta’s provincial tax will be coming in on January 1, 2025. Most provinces already have a vape tax in place, Alberta is one of the last provinces to charge this.
- 30ml bottle of juice - $7.84 fed tax + $ 7.84 provincial tax = $15.68 tax on product.
- 20ml Disposables - $6.80 fed tax + $6.80 provincial tax = $13.60 tax on product.
Bottle Size | Federal Excise Tax Per Bottle | Provincial Excise Tax Per Bottle | Total Excise Tax Per Bottle |
30mL | + $7.84 | + $7.84 | + $15.68 |
60mL | + $11.20 | + $11.20 | + $22.40 |
120mL | + $17.92 | + $17.92 | + $35.84 |
500mL | + $60.48 | + $60.48 | + $120.96 |
Please keep this in mind and try to “stock up” before this tax increase. It’s a hefty one. It will mimic the federal tax.
